Gints Aldins of West Hartford won the 2010 Connecticut State Backgammon Championship and $840. Jerry Padova of Malden Mass is runner-up winning $280. Dick Clukey of Terryville won consolation and $100. Janet Streckfus of Rocky Hill wins reserve section and $96. Other prizewinners include Gerhard Roland of Naugatuck..., Mike Streckfus of Rocky Hill, and Howard Peelle of Amhearst Mass.
National Chess Master Rick Bauer of Wolcott won the chess tournament with Charles Wojtyniak in second place. There were a total of 16 backgammon players and 8 chess players for the first Saturday afternoon event at TD Homers Sports Grill in Southington. It was held on November 13, 2010. The tournaments were organized by Rob Roy.
